Since I've been back, I have been on board as the Director of International Affairs for Shidler's International Business Organization, Director of Marketing for the Business Executive Society of Tomorrow, started a summer internship at Atlas Insurance Agency, graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with my BBA in Management and Marketing, and landed a full-time position as Digital Media Manager at Hawaii Business Magazine. I actually start my new job next week! I attribute my successes, determination and willingness to put myself out there in order to take full advantage of every opportunity that comes my way all to my study abroad experience. I know it sounds kind of dramatic to say this but honestly, i spent my entire life on the island of Oahu. Studying abroad taught me the importance of gaining a global perspective and in doing so, I saw so many doors open for myself. I think that this is because I started to truly believe that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE if you set your mind to accomplishing it. I also fell in love with Japan. I actually went back to visit during Spring Break 2017. I stayed in Ueno but then went down to Otsu and Kyoto for a few days. It was amazing and also amazingly cold. I'm also planning to go back for Thanksgiving weekend (since it'll be my birthday as well) just to visit friends and enjoy the fall foliage. If you're interested in studying abroad, but are concerned about money, I want you to know that there are soooo many scholarship and financial aid opportunities out there available to students. Take full advantage of those resources because they help tremendously. This is an investment in your future and a chance of a lifetime. Studying abroad has definitely been the highlight of my college career.
