HELEN LAWSpring 2017 exchange to National University of Singapore, Singapore
Hello! My name is Helen Law and I am a senior majoring in Management and International Business. I pursued my dream of studying abroad at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in the Spring 2017 Semester. I am very passionate about traveling, shopping, hiking, working out, dancing, listing to music, eating, and watching Thai dramas. Not nearly as long as when I discovered I could not say the word “film,” this is my last semester as an undergrad at the Shidler College of Business.

NATASHA BAILEYSpring 2017 exchange to Copenhagen Business School, Denmark
I was initially indecisive between studying abroad or furthering my schooling and career first before traveling, so I chose to flip a coin, and it was the best decision of my life. 7 months and 18 countries later, I have gotten the life-changing experience that only traveling and studying abroad can provide for any young person going out into the world in hopes of finding themselves. Without the MIX Program, I would not have been able to gain as much from studying in Denmark as I have, and my goal is to help others step out into the world with confidence and a new-found sense of self that studying abroad will provide.

JAMES RAFANAN, JR.AY 2016-17 exchange to Chung-Ang University, Korea
My name is James Rafanan, Jr. and I am currently majoring in Second Language Studies. Studying abroad has been a dream of mine since I was little, and it finally came true when I was an exchange student at Chung-Ang University in Seoul, South Korea for two semesters. I have a big interest in learning the Korean language and ventured to South Korea to study abroad to immerse myself in the language and culture. Studying abroad was one of the best decisions and experiences of my life, so I’m super excited to hear that you are also taking the chance to explore what’s beyond your home country!

JEREMY MICHAEL JIMENEZAY 2016-17 exchange to Seoul National University, Korea
Annyeong! My name is Jeremy Michael Jimenez and I am currently a senior majoring in marketing and international business. I just came back to UH Manoa after spending two semesters at Seoul National University. Studying in South Korea for 1 year was by far my best year in university; experiencing another culture completely different from your own is an opportunity that doesn’t come around very often. I hope all of you take the chance and go abroad before you graduate!
